Training

Child Protective Training

Sequoia has many programs that serve children and youth. Ministry programs such as Sunday School, Children's church, TeamKid and others help to develop each child’s intellectual, social, spiritual or physical capacity. As they serve, ministry leaders cannot forget their responsibility to safeguard each child, as well as those who serve them. Church members need to be guaranteed that Sequoia's preschool, children’s ministry and their youth programs are safe. Because of the trust that Sequoia has put in every single children's worker, it is mandatory for each potential worker to fill out a Volunteer Interest Application, to be trained in a Child Protective Training program, have a background check, and be fingerprinted. This is required for every worker no matter how often or where they serve.

The first step is to fill out the Volunteer Interest Application, print it and turn it into the office at Sequoia Church.

The next step is to complete the training materials. These videos are password protected and available here. The password will be given by the church office to approved candidates. Each candidate must watch all 10 videos, then fill out the form and submit it to the office.
