The students at Sequoia get together at least twice a week as a group. The purpose is to spur one another on to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24), to equip students and their families for the work of the gospel (Ephesians 4:12) , and to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20).
You don't have to be a "church kid" to come. We welcome anyone from 7th to 12th grade to come a join our Student Ministry. Our goal is to reach out to new people using retreats, camps, events, and most importantly the relationships that we have with those around us to invite and engage our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. So, if your are not a Christian, or you are an atheist or just someone wondering what a Christian youth group is like--come hang out with Sequoia Student Ministry, we have a great time and answer a lot of hard questions.
The leader of the Student Ministry at Sequoia is Pastor Dan Mahaffie. He has years of experience answering the hard questions. He doesn't always give you the answer you are expecting, but always bases his answers on the Bible. Even if you have never been to the youth group, drop Pastor Dan an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or give him a call at the church office at 209.823.2089 and you will get a Biblical answer.
Many of the activities REQUIRE a medical release form to be filled out and turned in before the activity. Click here to complete the form then print it and turn it in the youth leaders before the activity. It must be printed and signed and dated by the Parent or guardian.
The Student Ministry meets on Sunday morning at 8:45AM to 9:45AM in the Family Life Center at 1050 S. Union for Bible Study discussing the hard issues . They also meet at the same place on Wednesday nights from 6:15PM to 7:45PM when the students compete on teams.
